Terms of Service – MissionZebra

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the MissionZebra app, developed by MissionZebra – Student Project (“we”, “us” or “our”).
By installing or using the MissionZebra app, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the app.
1. Purpose of the app
MissionZebra is intended as an educational and supportive tool to help families manage screen time in a positive way. The app offers, among other things:
- Setting and tracking screen time limits
- Assigning tasks and rewards
- Basic overviews and statistics
MissionZebra is a student project and is provided “as is”, without any guarantees of completeness, error-free operation or permanent availability.
2. Access and use
You agree to use the app only for legitimate and family-friendly purposes.
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
- You must keep your login credentials confidential.
- You should inform us if you suspect misuse of your account (to the extent this is practically possible within the project).
3. Accounts and parental supervision
MissionZebra is designed to be managed by parents or legal guardians. Children use the app under adult supervision.
- Only a parent or guardian may create a main account.
- Parents decide which information about children is entered in the app.
- Parents are responsible for their children’s use of the app.
4. Intellectual property
All rights in the software, name, logos, interface and underlying code of MissionZebra are owned by MissionZebra – Student Project or our licensors.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent any part of the app, except where such restrictions are prohibited by applicable law.
5. Permitted and prohibited use
You may not:
- Use the app for any illegal purpose or to harm others;
- Attempt to bypass the security or technical limitations of the app or backend;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the app, except where this is permitted by law;
- Attempt to access or misuse data of other users.
6. Privacy
Our processing of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the app, you confirm that you have read that policy.
7. Availability and changes
Since MissionZebra is a student project, it is possible that:
- The app is temporarily or permanently unavailable;
- Features are added, changed or removed;
- Bugs or errors occur that are not immediately resolved.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the app, or any part of it, at any time and without prior notice.
8. Limitation of liability
MissionZebra – Student Project provides the app “as is” and without any express or implied warranty. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or loss of income;
- Loss of data resulting from the use of or inability to use the app;
- Decisions you make based on information or statistics displayed in the app.
The app does not constitute medical, parenting or legal advice. Parents remain fully responsible for decisions regarding parenting, screen use and digital habits.
9. Termination of use
You may stop using MissionZebra at any time and, where technically supported, request the deletion of your account.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the app (temporarily or permanently) if:
- you seriously or repeatedly violate these Terms; or
- the project is discontinued or the app is no longer maintained.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when the app changes or when legislation requires it. The most recent version will always be available via our website and/or inside the app.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, unless mandatory consumer law in your own country provides otherwise.
